No Objection Certificate issuance

In India, any Employer, Employee, Landlord, Tenant, or Individual can issue a NOC as a legal document for making a trade, offer, or business of any kind. Anyone can use a NOC for or against a court of law. A No Objection Certificate consists mainly of the basic details of the parties involved. It is addressed to whosoever is concerned.

Importance of NOC

The No Objection Certificate establishes no objection by an individual, company, bank, or Landlord for doing or executing something. With this NOC, you can avoid legal troubles by producing it in the Court of Law to prove your innocence.

A Case of Interstate NOC: Car Purchase

Suppose you purchased a car registered in Delhi but want to use it in Mumbai. So, the car seller in Delhi must gain a NOC from the DTC Officer and send it car purchaser, i.e., you, in Mumbai. In this case, the NOC will contain that the car has no prior traffic offenses against it in Delhi, and there is hypothecation against the vehicle in Mumbai. As a car purchaser, you must present such NOC when you re-register the car in Mumbai.

Broadly speaking, a NOC is a legal document encompassing various scenarios such as a vital bank process, immigration, vehicle and house registration, and employment. A standard auditor NOC format or template can be used for any purpose(s).

How to apply for Car NOC?

  • Firstly, the car owner must submit the No Objection Certificate application to the local RTO.
  • Then, he must draft and fill out the application form along with the required document attachments.
  • The owner must pay a fee of Rs. 100 for the application process.
  • Upon application reception, the RTO will then request a report from the police. This report will determine whether or not the car was used in any criminal activity(s).
  • If no outstanding dues or DSA proceedings are pending against the car, the RTO will issue a clearance receipt and a NOC.
