With the launch of MCA 21, e-filing is like a buzzing word. The challenge for e-filing of documents was the authentication of the documents. This DSC solves this Problem. Even most of the government site such as Income tax, e-biz portal etc. start accepting the documents online with e-signed which can be done through digital signature only.

Digital signature is an electronic form to authenticate the validity of any document which can be digitally signed. This digital signature is equivalent to handwritten signature or stamp seal but in nature more authenticate than hand written signature. There may be chances that your hand signature can be changed or not match with your earlier signed but these problems are not associate with the digital signature certificate.

Moreover, your hand written signature can be copied by anyone but it is no the case with your DSC because it is password protected. Even if you lost your digital signature, nobody can use it until he has password to use it. Digital Signature is an added assurance to the source of the documents.

Types of Digital Signature

1. DSC class II: This type of signature is used in ROC filing and Income Tax filing of the private limited companies or Public limited companies.
2. DSC Class III signature: This DSC is used in basically filing tender online. Companies such as IFFCO, IREPS are required to file e-tender. Even all stock broking companies are required to use Class III DSC to sign contract note.
3. eXIM signature: this is required to importer or exporter to interact with DGFT.
4. Rail DSC signature: For IRCTC agents for e-ticketing.

DSC has been legally recognised under the Information Technology act, 2000. This Act grants the DSC which is issued by a certifying authority in India the same status as a handwritten signature.
