On August 6th, 2020, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) released a notification in which all the information was included about existing Entrepreneurs Memorandum (EM)/ Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) and New MSME registration.

As per the notification the existing MSMEs that are registered under the Entrepreneurs Memorandum (EM) or Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) will be valid till 31st December, 2021 only.

So, now updating your old Udyog Aadhar becomes important to convert to Udyam certificate. The enterprises can convert it by visiting the Udyam Registration Portal. Below is a step-by-step process which can be followed to convert Udyog Aadhar to Udyam Certificate.

Udyog Aadhar Memorandum

Udyog Aadhar Memorandum is a one-page registration process to register as an MSME and it contains information of the applicant which is self-certified such as bank account, promoter details, etc.

The following documents are important to Convert Udyog Aadhar to MSME Udyam Registration Certificate:

  1. The owner’s Aadhar Number and PAN Number.
  2. Name of the organization or business.
  3. Type of organization.
  4. Details of your enterprise (previous registration).
  5. National Industrial Classification (NIC) Code.
  6. Current activities of your firm.
  7. Overall expenditure of the organization.
  8. The total number of employees or workers employed at your organization.
  9. Email id and mobile number of the entrepreneur.
  10. Current address & account details of the owner.

Process to Convert Udyog Aadhar to Udyam Registration

To convert the Udyog to Udyam certificate, the below are the steps which you are required to follow:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Udyog Aadhar Convert to Udyam.

Step 2: Choose the option from the home page “For those already having registration as UAM”. Along with this, different options are available for different companies or enterprises who are already having registration as UAM through assisted filling or Udyam Assist Platform for Informal Micro Enterprises.

Step 3: Fill your Udyog Aadhar Number and choose an option for OTP. First, OTP on Mobile as filled in UAM. Second, OTP on Email as filled in UAM. The main purpose of this is to identify your account and ensure that your information will not get misused.

Once you submit all your details, the system will verify them and if there is no issue in the information your Udyog Aadhar authentication will get successful. Then after a few days, you will get a message to revisit the site for the completion of the process. After completion of the process, you get the Udyam Aadhar Certificate. You can avail the benefits associated with it.
