The Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, launched the ADEETIE scheme on 15 July 2025, at a national event held at Arya (P.G.) College, Panipat, Haryana. ADEETIE scheme stands for Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme.

This landmark scheme marks a decisive step towards India’s shift to a low carbon economy by allowing micro, small and medium enterprises to upgrade to energy efficient tools via comprehensive technical and financial assistance by the Government. The scheme is an initiative of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

Launch of ADEETIE Portal

At the scheme launch event, the Hon’ble Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, officially launched the ADEETIE portal (adeetie.beeindia.gov.in). Additionally, he showed the Scheme Brochure to the public.

The ADEETIE portal will facilitate the financing process for the scheme’s eligible beneficiaries.

Budget Outlay of ADEETIE

The ADEETIE scheme has a budget outlay of Rs. 1000 crore. Out of this, Rs. 875 is for interest subvention and Rs. 50 crore is for Investment Grade Energy Audit support. The remaining Rs. 75 crore is for handholding support through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

The scheme is anticipated to catalyze approx. Rs. 9000 crore in investments, including Rs.6750 crore of MSME lending.

Support and Interest Subvention for MSMEs

ADEETIE scheme has been structured in such a way that it provides end-to-end hand holding via subvention of loans, detailed project reports, investment grade energy audits and post-implementation monitoring and verification.

Further, the scheme is expected to provide 5% interest subvention for micro and small enterprises and 3% for medium enterprises on loans. This will ensure MSMEs seeking financial assistance for energy efficiency projects will get access to affordable loans.

Key Industries and Implementation Period

ADEETIE will cover 14 major energy-extensive industries, including Brass, Bricks, Ceramics, Chemicals, Fishery, Food Processing, Forging, Foundry, Glass, Leather, Paper, Pharma, Steel Re-rolling, and Textiles.

The scheme will follow a phase-rollout, starting from 60 industrial clusters in the initial phase. In the second phase, the scheme will include an additional 100 clusters.

The implementation period for the scheme is 3 years, starting from FY 2025-2026 to 2027-2028. It’ll allow for progressive deployment, course rectification and expansion on the basis of early outcomes.
