Here are the participation guidelines for 5G Innovation Hackathon 2025:
The hackathon is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, startups, and professionals, who are encouraged to collaborate across disciplines.
Each team must submit a detailed proposal to one of the 100 designated 5G use case labs, clearly defining the problem statement, proposed solution, and anticipated impact.
Each participating institute will conduct an internal screening and recommend 1 to 5 proposals to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for further evaluation.
Proposals will undergo a rigorous regional and national shortlisting process before advancing to the prototype development phase.
Shortlisted teams will receive access to 5G labs for developing prototypes and will be guided by industry and academic experts.
Regional-level shortlisted proposals will be granted seed funding to refine and enhance their projects.
Final evaluation criteria will include technical execution, scalability, market readiness, societal impact, and originality.
Winning teams will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to present their projects on national platforms.
Intellectual property rights (IPR) support will be provided to help teams protect and commercialize their innovative solutions.
The theme for the 2025 hackathon, "Innovating the Future with 5G Technologies," focuses on developing solutions to address India-specific challenges across various socio-economic sectors. This initiative aims to harness 5G’s potential to drive technological and societal progress, making a lasting impact on India's future.
The submission window for proposals will be open from 15 March to 15 April 2025. Participants are encouraged to leverage the unique capabilities of 5G technology to create high-impact solutions.
