Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme: Features, Eligibility, Documents and Application Process

Have you been wondering, “what is Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme?”. Basically, the Banglar Yuva Sathi scheme (বাংলার যুব সাথী প্রকল্প), also known as Yuva Sathi Yojna and Bekar Bhata Scheme, is a welfare initiative of State Government of West Bengal. This scheme was announced on 5 February 2026. Its primary aim is to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth in the state.

Via this scheme, the state govt intends to support the educated young individuals while they pursue skill development opportunities or search for employment opportunities. All the eligible beneficiaries under the Banglar Yuva Sathi Yojna will receive a financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 every month via the Direct Benefit Transfer. This means the funds will be directly sent into all the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Features of Yuva Saathi Yojana 2026

Here are some of the key features of the Bekar Bhata scheme that you should know about:-

  • Under the scheme, a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 is provided to eligible beneficiaries.

  • To make payment to the beneficiaries, the scheme uses the Direct Benefit Transfer mode of payment.

  • The scheme’s target group is educated unemployed youth.

  • The scheme is applicable across all districts within the West Bengal state.

  • Minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for the scheme is Madhyamik (Class 10 pass).

Objectives of Banglar Yuva Sathi 

The main objectives of the West Bengal Yuva Saathi Scheme are as follows:-

  • One of the scheme’s primary objectives is to provide unemployed youth with temporary financial support. 

  • The scheme aims to reduce economic pressure that job-seeking individuals generally deal with.

  • It envisions to encourage West Bengal youth’s participation in skill development as well as training.

  • One of its key goals is to assist the youth of the state in preparing for competitive exams.

  • Another key goal of the Bangalar Yuva Saathi scheme is to promote employment opportunities across the state. 

Banglar Yuva Sathi Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scheme, the applicant must meet the conditions mentioned below:-

  • The applicant must be West Bengal state’s permanent resident.

  • Their age must be between 21 to 40 years of age.

  • They must have passed 10th class or equivalent examination.

  • The applicant must be currently unemployed as this scheme is only for unemployed individuals. 

  • If the applicant is already receiving benefits under certain other state welfare schemes, they may not be eligible (except educational scholarships).

  • It is recommended that the applicants verify the eligibility conditions before applying for the scheme.

Benefits of Yuva Sathi Scheme of West Bengal

The scheme’s benefits are as follows:-

  • It provides financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 per month to unemployed individuals.

  • The funds get credited directly to the beneficiary’s bank account

  • The scheme supports individuals during their job search and skill training period.

Banglar Yuva Sathi Yojana Documents Required

While applying for the scheme, the following documents may be required:-

  • Aadhaar Card;

  • Voter ID or Identity Proof;

  • Bank Passbook (first page) or Cancelled Cheque;

  • Passport-size photograph;

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable);

  • West Bengal State’s Residence Proof;

  • Madhyamik Admit Card (Age proof);

  • Madhyamik Certificate/Marksheet;

  • Applicants should ensure that documents are legible and self-attested.

Yuva Saathi Yojana Application Process

The Yuva Sathi Yojna application procedure takes place in the following manner:-

  • Under the Banglar Yuva scheme 2026, the educated yet unemployed youth in the state of WB can apply for a monthly financial assistance (Rs. 1500) by submitting the prescribed form. 

  • The form can be obtained from special registration camps set up by the state govt across all the 294 assembly constituencies of WB. Alternatively, the applicant has the option to download the application form directly from the official website of the concerned department and then take a print out of the same.

  • The registration camps provide a convenient, on-the-spot enrollment facility for eligible young individuals. Interested applicants can visit the nearest camp so they can complete their registration. 

  • Designated officials for the scheme will be available at the venue for the distribution of forms and offering assistance to candidates throughout the application process. They will also clarify the scheme’s eligibility criteria, document requirements and other essential guidelines so as to ensure accurate submissions by the applicants. So, in case of any doubts, the applicants must ask the officials for clarification.

  • Applicants must fill out all the necessary details in the form carefully. After that, they must attach all necessary supporting documents before submitting the form. All the documents must be clear and easily readable. 

  • The completed application along with the required documents must be handed over to the camp officials for further processing. 

  • After thorough verification and background scrutiny is done, the designated officer will forward the list of eligible candidates to the District Magistrate so as to seek the approval of financial assistance under the Bekar Bhata scheme 2026. 

  • For areas that fall under the jurisdiction of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the Commissioner serves as the sanctioning authority. 

  • Once the verification is successfully completed, the approved amount of Rs. 1,500 will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. Therefore, there’s no need for the beneficiary to go anywhere to collect the funds.

  • Selected beneficiaries will also need to periodically confirm their status, including life status verification, in order to continue receiving assistance under the Banglar Yuva Sathi Prakalpa / Bekar Bhata Scheme. 

  • According to the official schedule, financial assistance under the scheme will begin to be credited to beneficiaries bank accounts starting from 1 April 2026.
