Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka extended the last date to apply for the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme. The new deadline for applications is April 14, 2025. This is an extension from the original deadline of April 5, 2025, as per the guidelines issued on March 25, 2025.

Objective of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme

The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme offers financial assistance of up to Rs. 4 lakh to youth from marginalized communities, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS/EBC). The scheme supports unemployed youth by providing financial aid for self-employment, skill development, and entrepreneurship.

Government’s Investment in Youth Empowerment

During a video conference on March 31, 2025, from Hyderabad, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the state government allocated Rs. 10,000 crore for the scheme to empower youth and address unemployment. He also noted that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to resolve any challenges that might arise during the application or implementation process.

The Deputy Chief Minister also directed officials to appoint a young officer in each district to ensure smooth implementation—from receiving applications to grounding the projects. This initiative will help resolve any issues that unemployed youth might face while applying for or benefiting from the scheme.

Key Features of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme

Here are the key features of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme:

  • Financial Assistance: Offers up to Rs. 4 lakh to eligible youth for self-employment, skill development, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

  • Targeted Beneficiaries: Targets youth from SC, ST, BC, Minority, and EWS/EBC communities.

  • State Government Investment: The Telangana government allocated Rs. 10,000 crore to support the scheme and empower youth.

  • District-Level Support: Appoints young officers in each district to assist with the implementation and address challenges.

  • Continuous Monitoring: The government officials will regularly review the scheme's progress.

Ending Note

The government extended the application deadline to provide more youth with the opportunity to benefit from the scheme. With robust investment and district-level support, the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme will make a lasting impact on the livelihoods and economic prospects of Telangana's youth.
