On 11 October 2025, the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India 2025 concluded in the nation's capital New Delhi. The purpose of this national challenge event was to honor youth-led technological advancement, innovation and creativity.
The event was organized under the AI for Good Impact Initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), IIT Delhi, and backed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Ministry of Communications.
It showcased the talent of young innovators creating robotics-based solutions to manage food security as well as sustainable development.
Two categories were featured under the competition: junior and senior. First, second and third place awards were given out, and the Most Innovative Robot in each category received special recognition.
Here are details for awards under the junior category:
Winner: The winners of the Junior Category were Team Heyansh, Playto Labs, Bengaluru. They have been selected to represent India at the Global Grand Finale that will be held at Geneva, Switzerland, in July 2026.
First Runner-up: Team Robo Knights Junior from DPS R.K. Puram, New Delhi was declared as first runner-up team.
Second Runner-up: The Second Runner-up was Team Naitik from Playto Labs, Bengaluru.
Most Innovative & Original Robot: Team Heyansh from Playto Labs, Bengaluru received a special distinction for ‘Most Innovative & Original Robot’.
Here are details for awards under the senior category:
Winner: Team Ambitious Avengers from Sant Atulanand Convent School, Koirajpur, Varanasi, was declared the winner for the second consecutive year and will again represent India at the Global Grand Finale in Geneva, July 2026.
First Runner-up: Team Aarav from Playto Labs, Bengaluru was declared as the first runner-up.
Second Runner-up: Team Code from Lotus Valley International School, Noida Expressway, Sector 126, Noida, was declared as the second runner-up.
Most Innovative & Creative Robot: Team Aarav from Playto Labs, Bengaluru, received a special distinction for ‘Most Innovative & Original Robot’ under the senior category.
The winners of the national challenge event were honored by dignitaries and judges, recognizing the talent, teamwork and spirit of innovation.
The following distinguished guests graced the award ceremony:

Dr. Parag Agarwal, Deputy Director General (Telecom Technology Development Fund), Department of Telecommunications;
Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), IIT Delhi;
Prof. Sunil Jha, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi; and
Mr. Guillem Martínez Roura, AI & Robotics Programme Officer, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), along with other senior officials from the Department of Telecommunications, ITU, and IHFC–IIT Delhi.
All the distinguished guests congratulated the winners and extended their warm wishes to all the participants for their continued journey in learning and innovation.
The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is ITU’s AI for Good programme’s flagship initiative. It is aimed at nurturing the next generation of innovators to use robotics and AI for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This challenge encourages global collaboration among students, educators and technologists to develop robotics solutions that promote a better, more inclusive and sustainable world.
The ‘Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India’ gathered some of the leading voices from around the world to discuss the role of AI in achieving equitable as well as sustainable digital growth.
The sessions held at the event explored a range of important topics, including ‘Robotics and AI for Youth Society,’ ‘Digital Safety for Youth,’ ‘AI for Good: Unleashing AI and Robotics to Solve Global Challenges’ and ‘Robotics and AI for Youth-Led Society.’
The India Mobile Congress, abbreviated as IMC, is the largest technology forum in the entire Asia. It was first held in 2017. This event is jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
IMC brings together global leaders from the ICT and digital ecosystems leaders to explore the innovations that are moulding the future of connectivity, digital transformation and the ever-evolving role of artificial intelligence.
