On 21 September 2025, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched ‘Har Ghar Chhaon - Har Ghar Phal’ scheme during rabi agriculture fair at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University at Hisar. Under this scheme, 55,000 fruit saplings will be distributed free of charge in 110 villages across 22 districts of the state.

The CM asked farmers to adopt agricultural diversification and prioritize coarse grains’ production while addressing farmers during rabi agriculture fair. He said, “By adopting activities such as medicinal plant cultivation, bee keeping, mushroom production, vegetable, flower and fruit farming, farmers can multiply their income. The state government will continue to provide all possible facilities, incentives, and support to farmers in this direction.”

He also mentioned, “The agricultural fairs serve as an important platform for dialogue between scientists and farmers, providing valuable knowledge about new technologies, crop diversification and natural resource management. This is the need of the hour to cultivate less water intensive crops.”

While speaking about crops damaged by excessive rainfall, CM Saini announced that government is gathering information on crop losses via Kshatipurti portal to ensure timely assistance for affected farmers. He urged agricultural scientists to come up with crop varieties that are resistant to waterlogging and drought and can support farmers at the time of adverse weather conditions.

Chief Minister Saini stated that Rs. 15,000 per acre will be provided for crops damaged as a result of rainfall and floods. Additionally, he mentioned that under Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, over Rs. 135 crore has already been provided to 29,864 farmers as compensation.

Haryana has also become the first state in the country to protect horticulture farmers from weather-related risks. 21 crops have been included in the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme to achieve this. Under the conservation and development of indigenous cows and murrah development scheme, CM disbursed up to Rs. 40,000 cheques to 50 cattle rearers. Additionally, he presented dairy establishment approval letters to a total of 75 women entrepreneurs.

Moreover, CM Saini inaugurated Dattopant Thengadi Agricultural Entrepreneurship Center, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar hostel for women and Kalpana Chawla hostel for women. He applauded the scientists of the university and mentioned that Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a centre of pride for the entire country, where the scientists work on agricultural research and farmer’ problems’ solutions tirelessly.
