Regarding the ICAI CA Inter Exam 2026, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has made an important announcement. As per the announcement, the Institute has rescheduled the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper 5 (Auditing and Ethics).
Previously, the examination was scheduled to take place on 15 January, 2026 (Thursday). However, as per the new schedule, the exam has been rescheduled to 19 January 2026.
The ICAI has made the revision in the examination schedule due to general elections of the Municipal Corporations that will be held on 15 January 2026 in the State of Maharashtra.

The ICAI has issued a clarification that admit cards already issued to the candidates shall remain valid for the re-scheduled examination date. A separate new admit card does not need to be downloaded by the candidates for the 19 January 2026 exam.
The ICAI has said that there is no change in schedule of any other papers of the Chartered Accountants examination. The schedule for them shall remain the same as announced earlier. On the basis of the existing timetable, all other ICAI examinations under the January 2026 session will be conducted.
According to the earlier schedule issued by ICAI, the exam dates are as follows :-
CA Intermediate Group I exams: January 6, 8 and 10, 2026
CA Intermediate Group II exams: January 12, 15 and 17, 2026
Note that only Paper 5 of Group II that was previously planned for 15 January has been shifted to 19 January. Other papers have not been affected. Candidates should regularly check the official website of the Institute at www.icai.org for the latest updates and official announcements regarding the examinations.
