List of Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme 2025

On 22 May 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 103 railway stations spread across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories as part of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This event is a major step in Indian Railways’ mission to modernize over 1,300 stations nationwide and transform them into advanced, commuter friendly transport centers.

Salient Features of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

The salient features of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme are as follows:

  • To redevelop railway stations into world class facilities and enhance accessibility while incorporating local architectural styles.

  • Stations now feature modernized waiting areas, better lighting, digital ticketing systems, Divyangjan-friendly infrastructure, energy efficient designs and elements that showcase regional culture and heritage.

  • The first set of 103 upgraded stations completed at an investment of over Rs. 1,100 crore has been opened.

  • The revamped stations are spread across major and minor districts in the states and UTs of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Highlights from the Scheme’s Inauguration

Here are the highlights from the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’s inauguration that took place on 22 May 2025:

  • PM Modi conducted the inauguration virtually from Bikaner, Rajasthan.

  • Deshnoke Station in Rajasthan, newly renovated with traditional architectural designs, was among the key highlights.

  • The Prime Minister also launched the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express and laid foundation stones for various infrastructure developments totaling more than Rs. 26,000 crore.
