Ministry of Commerce Launches New Integrated Website for Department of Commerce

On 15 April 2026, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched a modernized, accessible and integrated website for the Department of Commerce (DoC) @ commerce.gov.in. The website is entirely compliant with the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) 3.0 as well as the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW). The new platform has been designed to improve service delivery for importers, exporters and other stakeholders by providing them with a smooth and interrupted access to details and resources pertaining to trade. 

Apart from the website, a bilingual mobile application (Android/iOS) has also been launched. It provides offline access and comes with GPS features for user convenience. To ensure security, expandability and continuous enhancement, provision has been made for continuous maintenance as well as upgrades. 

This initiative by the Ministry of Commerce is in alignment with the e-governance vision of Government of India. It promotes ease of doing business, transparency and efficiency as far as foreign trade is concerned.

Key Features of the New Website

The new integrated website for the Department of Commerce offers the following features:-

  • User-friendly Interface:- The website offers a simple, clean and intuitive interface so that users can navigate on it easily. 

  • Improved Accessibility and Responsiveness:- It is a mobile-friendly platform that is accessible to all the users, including those having disabilities.

  • Integration with Government Digital Services:- For improved service delivery, the website offers consistent connectivity with the existing government portals as well as databases. 

  • Multilingual Feature:- The website’s content is available in a total of 22 indian languages using Bhashini API. This feature ensures wider outreach. 

  • Custom Display Settings:- The website users can customize the font size, colour theme and language easily based on their preference. 

  • Real-Time Updates:- The platform is CMS-enabled and enables the authorized officials to update the content on an instant basis.

  • CPGRAMS:- For smooth grievance redressal, Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) has been linked to the new website.

  • Navigation in a structured manner:- The website comes with an organized structure, offering a three-level menu with properly defined sections as well as the sub-sections. 

  • GIGW and DBIM 3.0 Compliant:- The platform has been developed in alignment with the GIGW and DBIM 3.0 guidelines. As a result, it ensures enhanced security, usability and accessibility for the users.

Key Integrations 

To enhance user engagement and improve functionality, the platform integrates the following:-

  • Social Media:- The platform has been integrated with DoC’s social media platforms namely X, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram to enhance visibility as well as engagement.

  • Trade Intelligence & Analytics (TIA) Portal:- It integrates real-time trade data integration on Territorial and Commodity Division pages.

  • Parliament Portal:- The system eliminates manual intervention as it automatically updates Parliamentary Questions and Answers pertaining to DoC.
