On 16 March 2026, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organized the first National Workshop on the MSME Online Dispute Resolution Portal. The workshop was organized in New Delhi. The Ministry conducted it to promote quicker, cost effective and tech enabled systems for resolution of disputes pertaining to micro and small enterprises.
The workshop was attended by MSME industry associations, MSEF Councils, ADR institutions, legal experts and policymakers. Together, they deliberated the strengthening of dispute resolution mechanisms and to familiarize the stakeholders with the MSME ODR Portal’s functionality.
Senior officials belonging to the Ministry emphasized on the commitment of the Government of India when it comes to creating a supportive environment for the MSMEs by ensuring a faster resolution of business-related disputes.
They mentioned that efficient systems for resolving disputes are of utmost importance for enhancing the ease of doing business as well as building confidence among entrepreneurs and investors.
The MSME Secretary, Sh. S.C.L. Das urged all the parties involved to take collective responsibility and promoted Center-State cooperation for successful dispute resolution via MSME ODR mechanism.
The representatives of several State Councils and Industry Associations emphasized the value of the ODR portal when it comes to settling disputes pertaining to late payments and how ODR can greatly cut down on the time and expense of conventional dispute resolution procedures while enhancing accessibility as well as transparency for small businesses at a nationwide scale.
At the workshop, best practices as well as successful case studies were shared by the participants to showcase how the MSME ODR Portal has helped in commercial dispute resolution in an efficient manner.
In order to guarantee prompt and efficient resolution of disputes that MSEs tend to face, the workshop concluded with a consensus on bolstering institutional frameworks, raising awareness among entrepreneurs and encouraging the ODR Portal’s adoption.
