Ola Launches Energy Storage Solution Shakti

On 16 October 2025, Ola Electric, led by Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal, announced its entry into the battery energy storage systems with the launch of Ola Shakti - a portable device that can be used to power ACs and refrigerators at home, water pumps at farms and business establishments. The launch of this device marks the company’s expansion beyond mobility, into the wider green energy domain. 

Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal said, “We didn’t name the company Ola Auto; we named it Ola Electric, and our vision has always been to bring the whole energy storage supply chain into the market. Today, we are launching Ola Shakti, which is the last-mile grid-complementing solution. We will offer power backup, solar storage, voltage stability and power portability.”

Ola Shaki is available in 4 configurations: 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh priced at Rs 29,999, Rs 55,999, Rs 1,19,999, and Rs 1,59,999, respectively for the first 10,000 units. The pre-bookings have opened for purchasing the device @ Rs. 999. The deliveries are set to begin by next year’s Makar Sakranti.

Mr. Aggarwal said, “Ola Shakti represents a fundamental shift in how Indians access, control, and consume energy, as a portable, on-demand resource designed for modern Indian households, farms and businesses. With its entry into the BESS market, the company expects its annual consumption for BESS to scale up to 5 GWh in the next couple of years."

Ola Shakti has various features like instant power changeover, weatherproof IP67-rated batteries and real-time monitoring through a connected app. Individuals can use this device to power their appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators and pumps. It offers up to 1.5 hours of backup at full load, according to the company.
