The monthly installment under Madhya Pradesh’s Ladli Behna Yojana hasn’t been credited yet for April. Typically, the amount is deposited on the 10th of every month. This time, however, there's been a delay due to cash flow adjustments at the start of the new financial year. As per government sources, over 1.2 crore women are expected to receive Rs. 1,250 each by around April 12 or 13.
The state government depends on the central government for funds related to this scheme. Only after receiving funds from the Centre does the Finance Department release the payment to beneficiaries.
Ladli Behna Yojana is a financial assistance scheme that provides Rs. 1,250 per month to eligible women in Madhya Pradesh. It was launched in 2023 by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government.
The scheme played a significant role in the last elections but also brings a monthly financial burden of Rs. 1,500 crore to the state.
Eligible applicants include married women (widowed, divorced, or abandoned also qualify) who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh and were born between January 1, 1961, and January 1, 2000. Families with an annual income above Rs. 2.5 lakh do not qualify. Only one eligible woman per family (including husband, wife, and dependent children) can apply.
Officials haven’t issued any formal statement explaining the delay. Both the Finance and Women & Child Development (WCD) departments have remained silent. Internally, finance officials have cited “no information” when asked.
Despite the delay, there’s no indication of a fund shortage. WCD officials have communicated with senior authorities regarding the finance department’s fund management. Some finance officials, speaking anonymously, gave confirmation that funds disbursement will take place this month, just a few days later than usual.
Beneficiaries can check their payment status online by following the steps below:
Step 1: Visit the official Ladli Behna Yojana website.
Step 2: Click on “Application Status”.
Step 3: Enter your Application Number or Member Samagra ID.
Step 4: Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
This will show the current status of your application and whether the amount has been credited to your account. As of now, there’s no official update on the April installment release. We advise you to wait until an official notification is released.
