PM Modi Releases 21st Installment of PM Kisan from Coimbatore

At the State level ceremony that took place in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, on 19 Nov, Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, inaugurated rural road projects amounting to Rs. 2,225 crore, expansion of National Makhana Development Board, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’s benefits’ direct payment and numerous development initiatives.

The event marked the nationwide launch of the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Coimbatore. During this ceremony, Rs. 500 crore was directly transferred into the bank accounts of 25 lakh farmers from the Central Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The presence of thousands of farmers as well as rural representatives made this occasion a major milestone in the developmental journey of the state.

The program was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, State Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and other notable public representatives, including Ministers Dayaldas Baghel and Tankaram Verma. At the ceremony, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented documents approving rural road projects worth Rs. 2,225 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. 

These projects aim to connect nearly 780 villages in Chhattisgarh with all weather paved roads as well as facilitate the construction of over 2,500 kilometers of new rural roads. Chouhan stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, infrastructure development in rural India has gained unprecedented momentum. He emphasized that the expansion of road connectivity will enhance economic activities in the region to a great extent.

It was announced by Shri Chouhan that Chattisgarh will now be a part of the National Makhana Development Board. He stated that this decision will create significant opportunities for the state's farmers in areas like production, processing, value addition and access to national markets. In his address, the Union Minister highlighted key national decisions made under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

These include the construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the peaceful abrogation of Article 370 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the passage of the Women’s Reservation Act and reforms that were made with the aim to strengthen national security of India. He characterized these decisions as historic milestones in India's journey towards development as well as self reliance. Shri Chouhan also emphasized regarding the decisive actions taken against Naxalism movement in Chhattisgarh.

He noted that the anti-Naxal operations that were conducted under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah have significantly reduced Naxal violence and brought it to its final stage. He described this as a transformative step for the state's development, investment climate and rural peace.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to the farmers. A reaffirmation was made regarding the commitment to continue strengthening rural as well as agricultural development of the state of Chattisgarh.
