PM To Disburse Incentives Worth Around Rs. 2,400 Crore. Under PM-VBRY

Under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, abbreviated as PM-VBRY, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth approximately Rs. 2,400 crore at a special programme that will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 19 June 2026 at 5 PM.

The disbursement by the PM marks a significant milestone in implementation of PM-VBRY. This scheme is Government of India’s flagship employment-linked incentive scheme. It aims to accelerate job creation, promote formalization of employment, enhance employability and expand social security coverage across various sectors.

So far, this scheme has contributed to the creation of 1.5 million job opportunities across the country. The scheme encourages workers as well as employers to participate in the formal economy. Under PM-VBRY, first time employees are eligible for an incentive of up to Rs. 15,000. This financial aid would provide essential support as they make an entry in the workforce.

Additionally, under the scheme, employers who create extra jobs can receive incentives of up to Rs. 3,000 per month for each new employee they bring in. This encourages sustained job growth. Recognizing the strategic importance of manufacturing in driving economic growth, employers in this sector can receive incentives for up to four years while those in other sectors can benefit for two years.

The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana showcases the commitment of the Government of India towards promoting an enabling environment for employment-led growth and ensuring that the benefits of the country’s economic progress translate into quality formal employment opportunities for the youth.

The PM-VBRY scheme came into effect last year on 1 August 2025. The scheme has a total budget of Rs. 99,446 crore and aims to incentivize the creation of more than 35 million jobs over a two-year period. Of these, approximately 19.2 million beneficiaries are expected to be first-time entrants into the workforce.

By supporting employees as well as the employers, the scheme transforms formal employment, enhances social security coverage and furthers the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
