The nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) have been opened by the Government of India. The last date for submission of nominations for PMRBP is 31 July 2026. The Government encourages all parents, teachers, organizations and citizens to assist deserving children in applying or getting nominated for this honor. This PMRBP award provides lifetime recognition and showcases young achievers on a national stage.

What is PMRBP?

PMRBP full form is Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. It is a prestigious award conferred by President of India to children who have shown exceptional achievements in different fields. It is regarded as the highest civilian award for children in India and recognizes outstanding achievements of children between the ages of 5 and 18 years. Interestingly, the award has its roots in two earlier awards. 

The National Child Welfare Awards were started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 1979, and the National Child Award was started by the Indian Council for Child Welfare in 1996. In 2018, these two awards were merged and renamed as Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. The award is administered by Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Deadline & Process for Submission of Nominations for PMRBP

The submission deadline for nominations is 31 July 2026. Nominations can only be submitted online through the official Rashtriya Puraskar Portal @ https://awards.gov.in.  Anyone, including individuals and institutions, can submit nominations. Children are also encouraged to self-nominate. 

To apply, you must register or log in to the portal and provide essential applicant information such as name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, mobile phone number and email address. After this, you must select "Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2026" from section titled “Ongoing Nominations”. 

Then, click “Nominate/Apply Now,” choose the relevant award category and indicate whether the nomination is for yourself or another child. The application form requires details about the nominee, a write-up (up to 1,000 words) describing the achievement and its impact, supporting documents and a recent photograph in jpg/jpeg/png format. 

Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found in the “Registration and Nomination Process for PMRBP” document located under the Notification tab on the PMRBP 2026 portal page. Applications can be saved as drafts and edited before final submission is made. Once submitted, a downloadable copy will be generated for your records.
