The Raj Bhavan Annadhan Scheme was officially launched on 29th June 2025, at an event held at Old Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan. This scheme was launched by the Governor of Kerala Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The launch ceremony was presided over by Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai.

Office bearers of Goa Street Providence organization received a cheque amounting to Rs 1,20,000. During the launch event, Arlekar mentioned that the books written by Pillai are a window for the readers. His literature offers an insight to fresh notions, perspectives and knowledge. He further added that reading develops empathy amongst the readers.

The Kerala Governor said that Goa is lucky to have a Pillai as their Governor, who has continuously served in Goan people’s best interests. Arlekar said, "He is the finest Governor I have seen."

He further added, "Governor Pillai has cited a unique example for other Raj Bhavans in the country, through his unique work for extending a helping hand to the needy people in the State. The Governor, through his noble work, has shown the path to others; we all have to follow him."

CM Pramod Sawant said that the Raj Bhavan Annadhan Scheme is a unique scheme and can only be seen in Goa. Further, he stated that the Governor gained a perception about the life of a common man by visiting remote parts of Goa on a personal level during his several yatras.

Sawant urged kidney patients to follow a strict diet and cited the State's increasing incidence of kidney illness. A strict diet will assist people with kidney disease in controlling their illness and halting additional harm.

The Chief Minister told the people that the National Telemedicine Service of India is a step towards attaining digital health equity and Universal Health Coverage. He also emphasized the eSanjeevani program when discussing the Union Government's activities. He also added that eSanjeevani makes it simple and quick to get in touch with physicians and medical specialists.

Governor Pillai praised the Chief Minister for continuously supporting his initiatives and discussed the key to successfully implementing various schemes through the Raj Bhavan. While speaking about the iconic “Jai Hind” slogan, made popular by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Governor mentioned that a Muslim soldier was behind this slogan, which was then happily accepted by Netaji Bose.

The Annadhan scheme is an effort by the Governor. He will donate the amount he receives as royalty from his books for the scheme to serve a noble cause. Around 40 patients suffering from cancer and dialysis received financial assistance via Discretionary Funds of the Governor.

At the event, the guests were received by Sanjeev C Gauns Dessai, Secretary to the Governor. Mihir Vardhan, Special Officer, took up the responsibility to introduce the scheme. A vote of thanks was proposed by Bosco George.
