Winners of National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025 Announced

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, has announced the winners of the National Gopal Ratna Awards (NGRA) for 2025. The NGRA is one of the highest national honors in the livestock and dairy sectors. 

The NGRA awards 2025 will be presented by Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, who oversees the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, along with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The event will also be attended by Minister of State for MoFAHD, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, and Shri George Kurian. 

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 26 November 2025 as part of the National Milk Day celebrations. This year, a total of 2,081 applications were received, from which the awardees were selected.

The details of winners in each category are provided in the table below:-

Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT)

Non-NER:

1st Mr. Dillip Kumar Pradhan, Anugul, Odisha.

2nd     Mr. Vikas Kumar, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.

3rd Mrs. Anuradha Chakali, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh.


NER/ Himalayan:

  • Mr. Deluwar Hasan, Barpeta, Assam.

 

The NGRA 2025 will include a Certificate of Merit, a memento and a monetary prize in the first two categories, i.e., Best Dairy Farmer and Best Dairy Cooperative Society/Farmer Producer Organization (DCS/FPO/MPCs), as follows: - 

  • Rs. 5,00,000 (Rupees five lakh only) for 1st rank 

  • Rs. 3,00,000 (Rupees three lakh only) for 2nd rank 

  • Rs. 2,00,000 (Rupees two lakh only) for 3rd rank

  • Rs. 2,00,000 (Rupees two lakh only) for a Special Award designated for the North Eastern Region (NER) or Himalayan States. 

 

As far as the Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) category is concerned, the National Gopal Ratna Award 2025 will consist of a Certificate of Merit and a memento only. Under this category, no cash prize will be awarded.

Background of NGRA

The Rashtriya Gokul Mission, launched in 2014, places an emphasis on scientific conversation as well as development of indigenous bovine breeds. Under this mission, the National Gopal Ratna Awards were instituted to acknowledge excellence in the dairy sector and promote indigenous bovine breeds. 

Since 2021, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has been conferring the NGRA awards annually to encourage milk-producing farmers, artificial insemination technicians and dairy cooperative societies/MPCs/FPOs.
