‘Ayush Nivesh Saarthi’ - An Investor Facilitation Portal

During the Ayush Stakeholder/Industry Interaction Meet on 29 May 2025, at Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi, the Government of India launched the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi Portal in an effort to establish India as the global center for traditional medicines and wellness. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav collaboratively unveiled the portal. 

Senior government officials, industry leaders and international stakeholders attended the event, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, and Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of DPIIT. The launch marked a new phase in India’s effort to turn its traditional wellness systems into a strong economic force driven by data, transparency, and ease of access.

The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal is a dedicated digital platform designed to support investors. The Ministry of Ayush developed it in partnership with Invest India. It combines policy information, incentive schemes, investment-ready projects and real-time assistance in a single user-friendly interface. Aimed at both Indian and international investors, the platform strengthens India’s position as a preferred destination for investments in traditional systems of medicine. 

India’s Ayush industry grew at an impressive annual rate of 17% between the years 2014 and 2020. This made the industry one of the country’s fastest growing industries. Due to the rise in global interest in natural, preventive and wellness-focused healthcare, Ayush has been leading a worldwide shift in health and lifestyle choices.

During the launch, Shri Piyush Goyal highlighted that India allows 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Ayush sector through the automatic route. “The launch of Ayush Nivesh Saarthi sends a clear message to the world: India welcomes investment, partnerships, and innovation in holistic healthcare,” he said. “Our Ayush ecosystem is grounded in ancient wisdom but guided by a modern vision. This portal connects investors not just to opportunities, but to India’s timeless wellness heritage.”

Shri Prataprao Jadhav added, “Ayush Nivesh Saarthi is more than a digital platform. It is an enabler of transformation. It brings together the government’s proactive policies, India’s natural wealth of over 8,000 medicinal plant species and a globally trusted wellness tradition. This portal will empower investors with real-time data, transparent policy guidance, and access to a vibrant, expanding market. Ayush is no longer just India’s heritage. It’s now a global opportunity."

The importance of the Ayush sector also shows in its growing role in medical value travel and the global wellness economy. As one of India’s top five health service segments, Ayush plays a critical role in the $13 billion MVT industry of the country.

With the launch of Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal, the Indian government has yet again shown its commitment when it comes to making Ayush a key pillar of both public health and economic progress. We expect this portal to attract foreign investment, support entrepreneurs and showcase India’s leadership when it comes to traditional medicine and holistic wellness on the world stage.
