How to Check PF Balance

The Government of India created the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) as a statutory organization to manage the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) and other organized sector social security schemes. It encourages retirement savings and offers employees with a number of benefits.

Check out this blog article if you are a participant in the EPF scheme and would like to know your EPFO balance using different methods, i.e., SMS, missed call, EPFO member portal and UMANG app.

What is EPFO Scheme?

EPFO scheme is a retirement savings scheme run by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization. For most employers and employees in India, it is a mandatory scheme. The EPFO scheme requires both employer and employee to contribute a portion of the employee’s salary to a long-term savings fund.

This fund accumulates interest and can be withdrawn by the employee upon their retirement or under specific circumstances like medical emergencies, such as critical illness, hospitalization or major surgeries, as well as other situations like purchasing a home, funding higher education or in the event of permanent disability or unemployment.
