LPG full form is Liquefied Petroleum Gas. It is a fossil fuel produced during natural gas processing and petroleum refining. It is a non-renewable source of energy. In 1955, the Burmah Shell Oil Company (now known as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) introduced LPG to the Indian public in Mumbai under the brand name 'Burshane'. The LPG industry didn't truly become a thriving and well-known industry until Indian Oil took control.
In 1964, ‘Indane’ brand was conceived by Indian Oil Corporation and had very model beginnings. On 22 October 1965, in Kolkata, the first Indane LPG connection was released.

CNG is primarily used for vehicles like autos, buses and cars. CNG is lighter than air. However, LPG is heavier than air. Generally, LPG is available more widely than CNG.
